Dairy Farming

A2 milk, bilona ghee, curd and paneer from our desi cows

Our Gir and Sahiwal cows graze on green fodder grown on our own fields. Milk is drawn by hand every morning and evening and reaches you the same day, or is churned into curd, paneer and traditional bilona ghee.

How we do it

Dairy Farming at Bhoomi Organics

We keep only indigenous Indian breeds — Gir and Sahiwal — whose milk naturally contains the A2 type of beta-casein protein. The herd is fed green fodder, mustard cake and wheat bran from our own farm, with no hormone injections to push yield.

Fresh milk is chilled within an hour of milking and delivered daily in and around Karnal. Surplus milk is set into curd overnight and slowly churned by hand into makkhan, which we heat on a low flame to make bilona ghee.

Cow dung and urine from the dairy go straight into our vermicompost beds, so nothing from the cow shed is wasted.
